Rosemary's Baby

I tend to find fashion in places I wasn't expecting it... Sunday night I went to see Rosemary's Baby for the first time - it was playing at SIFF Cinema. I went in thinking it was going to be super scary but really it was just suspenseful. I did enjoy it though and Mia Farrow is quite adorable in all of her tent dresses and flats.

Her clothing in the movie was really cute and was well picked out for her. She wore a pair of black patent leather Mary Jane's that I am obsessed with now (finding a picture of them online has proven to be impossible)... It may be hard to find a replica of a shoe worn in 1968 though...

I tried to find some good screen grabs from the movie but most are in black and white or of her in her blue nightgown... Not really what I was looking for. Trying to find out who designed the clothing for the movie was also impossible... All I could find was Anthea Sylbert was the costume designer.

I did find a dress online today that looks like it could be straight out of the movie (and that era). I love it! It's on sale for $328.30 - it's a Jil Stuart after all... The website is having a 40% off sale though if you vote on Nov 4th (code: IVOTE40).

Halloween is Almost Here

If you are in Seattle and looking for something to do for Halloween then here are a few options:

1. Interested in a Halloween costume dance party? Attend the Boo Costume Extravaganza at Fremont Studios.

2. Feel like joining in on a good cause? How about the Black Cat Affair - Halloween fundraiser? "Halloween celebration with a fortune teller, DJ, drinks, and a chance to win a Nintendo Wii, costumes required, cash bar; all proceeds go to Animal Talk Rescue shelter for homeless, neglected and abused pets. No one under 21 years old will be admitted."

3. Looking for some halloween hoopla with tons of people? Here is info on the Hollywood Nights Halloween Party: "Two rooms of entertainment, theme decorations, psychics, a gigantic costume contest (Grand Prize $1000 cash) and a mix of activities for everyone."

4. Want to see a scary movie? Check out Freaks at SIFF Cinema.

5. Not into going out? Then just stay home and watch scary movies while handing out candy to the neighborhood kids. There's nothing wrong with that! (This is what I am hoping to do... there is just something about working all day and then staying out late. Sometimes I just enjoy staying in and Friday's are usually great nights for that... USUALLY I said!)

I'd love to know what you plan to dress up as... Leave a comment, if you dare!

Have a happy (and safe) Halloween no matter what you do! :)
