Vera Wang Dresses!!

Bluefly.com sent me an email today about Vera Wang Dresses and how they are "Up to 40% Off". I just had to go look as I have this Kate Spade-like obsession with Vera Wang. I don't own any clothing from her, but a friend of mine did give me Vera Wang lingerie when I got married because, as she put it, "every girl needs Vera Wang!" (Thanks K!) I've added an image of one dress that I thought was adorable - plus it's 51% off! Ohhh Ahhh!

So anyways, I headed on over to bluefly to see what they had and it appears that Vera Wang was the headliner of the email but in fact many designers have dresses up to 40% off. Here, see for yourself!

I don't know what it is about Vera Wang but I do love her dresses. I wish I could have had a VW dress at my wedding but oddly enough when it came down to my actual wedding I wasn't as into the whole idea of the dress as I had dreamed I would be. I tried on many dresses at one place and once I found it, I found it. I didn't spend more than $500 and I loved my dress. No label, just a dress that worked well for my body and I was able to add a touch of pink, my favorite color... My friend, Jenny, found the dress for me and when I first looked at it I was like "eh, it's ok". It had this hideous flower on it but she reminded me it could be removed. She insisted I try it on. Thank God she did, because as soon as I did we all said "It's the one!!" One thing I wish I would have done was to go to many places and try on the high end expensive dresses for fun!! I got married in Hawaii, so buying an easy dress was on my mind. I had to carry that sucker on the plane so a big dress would have been a pain. (Sorry, that was such a random tale to tell you all.)

The whole point of this whole post was to share with you the % going on at bluefly... Go shop!!

Dress-a-palooza!!

A new obsession for me has become dresses. I am definitelly a jeans and tee girl, but I do like them to be cute and trendy for the most part. One great thing about living in Seattle is I can wear jeans to work everyday. Most people I know here have this luxury... (sorry doctors, attorneys, bankers...)

I love finding cute, easy to throw on, dresses and have since been on that quest. I got an email today from Victoria's Secret about summer dresses and once I visited the link I discovered all sorts of cute reasonable dresses. Most I would not dare wear to work but I would wear them around town... once it gets warmer (pray people, pray! We need lots-o-sun!).

Last weekend I stumbled into my local Ross and found 5 lovely dress (after digging through many racks, mind you). 4 of them retailed for around $275 each at my local Nordstrom but I got them for the low, low price of $29.99.

Bluefly sent an email a week ago about dresses for under $100. Check them out as well as you can find some great pieces there! When is Christian Siriano of Project Runway going to have his collection at Bluefly? Wasn't that part of winning? I can't wait to see what he comes up with!

Old Navy didn't have much when I visited their store but their site seems to offer more selections of dresses. Check them out as well!

Oh, one more of note that I really want but have yet to purchase is from a local line called Out of Line. Beki, the designer, has this adorable Allways Dress that I soooo want!!

Searching for easy peasy 1 2 3-sy dresses....

This weekend I went to the newer Nordstrom Rack in Southcenter looking for some easy, comfy dresses. I had an idea in my mind as to what I wanted but sadly I had no luck whatsoever. (Ideally I was looking for the kind you can pull on and just throw on a pair of tights... I love this grey one - you can dress it up or down!)

I tried on probably 15 dresses that were kind of in the category I was hoping for... However the ones that I liked ended up having some slight problem - like a hole, a ripped seam, a button missing. It was a huge disappointment!

I know that maybe NR isn't the best place to go for exact needs but I figured I'd find something... Oh well.

I got my SaleMail today and there were a few dresses that would work - and they are on sale!! They all come from shopbop.com, you better hurry though b/c inventory is limited. (I don't tend to go there for items b/c they are really expensive but these dresses are reasonably priced!) I like this grey one b/c it's super simple!

This one is a bit short but technically it's a tunic. I do think it's adorable and looks comfy!! What do you think?

If you know of some great dress sales please let me know!!

Holiday Parties...

It may be to early to be thinking of such things but I have found myself doing just that... At my day job, the girls all get excited for the Winter Ball and we all discuss what dresses we're going to wear, how our hair will be, who we're bringing (for those who have that choice), shoes, etc...

I purchased my dress last winter at Anthropologie when it finally went on sale. I had been contemplating buying it at full price for last years party but decided to hold off and find something a little cheaper... After all it's just a work party, there is no red carpet... So anyways, I went back into the store a few months after the party and found it on the sale rack marked down 2 times... and the only one they had was in my size. Oh and did I mention my sister had given me a $25 gift card so that made it even more cheaper!! I think it came to $50... (it was originally $250) I, of course, purchased it assuming I would eventually wear this beautiful yet inexpensive dress someday.

So, the plan is to wear it for my company holiday party in December... However, we have a fancy DIFFA event coming up in October so I may wear it there too.

I went on Anthropologie today to see if I could find the dress and put a picture up... No luck. However I did find several beautiful dresses on sale!

I think the moral of this blog is to be looking for those dresses all year b/c you can find a great deal on a beautiful dress when you least expect it. Make sure it's a classic style though or you'll be wearing a dress that looked "so last season"...

Time to start thinking about shoes (YAY!)... Any suggestions for where I should start looking?

Sale at BetseyJohnson.com

There are some really cute items at BetseyJohnson.com. This dress is marked down from $370 to $160, that's a great deal for a designer item, especially one as cute at this!!! Some of the prices are still in the $200 range but there are several items under $100!

She included a few cute handbags, some shoes and even lingerie. Definitelly check it out!
