Yesterday my friend Regina and I went to the DFS Closet Treasure Sale at the YWCA downtown and we both only found a scarve each. It was pretty busy and we just weren't in the mood to skower the racks... I had found a cute Banana Republic coat but a button was broken and a seam was coming out and it was listed for $30 - that was more than I wanted to spend for a coat I'd have to perform surgery on. Shoe wise I didn't see anything I needed but there were tons of women with arm loads of clothing and shoes. A definite success for some! I did enjoy the little breakfast of croissants, fruit and OJ. (There was more but those were my highlights)
After the sale we headed down to Nordstrom to try on designer jeans in preperation for the Jean Warehouse Sale that is coming at the end of the month... Our plan backfired as we both walked away with a brand new pair of fancy jeans. I can't say I am sad about it though because I'm excited about my new pair of Hudsons. Regina was thrilled with her new Citizens of Humanity.
After lunch we both went on our seperate ways yet my shopping trip continued... I headed to Northgate planning to just go "look" and kill some time before my movie date with myself. I had seen this pair of boots at Target of all places that were pretty cute and just $34.99. I headed over to Macy's to see what they had and honestly the Target ones were equally as cute and more than half the price. My oddest find was a maternity shirt I bought to wear as a dress - that may sound weird but it really is cute as a dress, I tried it on, I swear. One good thing about buying it was I was able to buy a small since I am in no way preggers. :) I do love Target as you can find some great pieces to mix in to your everyday attire and you'd never know they were from Target!
I headed back to the Northgate Mall and decided to wander a bit more. I found some cute leggings and tights and even bought a Christmas present for my sister-in-law. At about 7:50 I darted out (literally) and headed to the movies - saw "Whip It" - great movie!!
It was a good day!

My Purchase for today...
I don't tend to buy alot of spendy designer items as I tend to be one who can find cute items on sale or trendy looking items. The other day I got my SaleMail email and low and behold they had a dress that Dawn and I had been drooling over for quite sometime, the Nanette Lepore Print Shift Dress. I love Nanette Lepore items but have yet to buy one b/c they are usually pretty pricey. But not today my friends, I found that dress for 70% off!!! It went from $275.00 to $81.90... I feel ok spending that on a dress that is as cute as this. So I bought it!! It was funny too b/c the only size they have available was mine - win win!I immediately emailed Dawn. I expressed how it was supposedly my size (I ordered it online so we'll see how it fits once it gets here) but if it didn't fit I felt good knowing I could just run down to Nordy's and return it. She suggested I let her try it on if that was the case b/c it's a dress that may work for maternity wear too. This is true, however, please do not think I am pregnant when I wear it folks. If it begins to look like people think that then it's definitelly going to Dawn or Nordy's. ;)
So anyways, that was the highlight of the day... Can't wait to get it in the mail!
We have the Danskin Triathalon this weekend - wish Regina and I luck!!

Summer is Approaching!!
I've been on a kick to find cute skirts and shorts and wasn't havng much luck... However, this morning I opened up the Delia's magazine and found several cute skirts and shorts for very reasonable. For just $34.50 you could get several of these adorable skirts or these cute seersucker shorts:

I know Delia's targets teens but I think these 3 items could definitelly work well into your 20's or 30's. Summer is a time to wear bright colors and to show off those tan, or "fake" tan, legs. I will say I think their sizes run a tad bit small so you may wanna go up a size... but noone knows what that tag says except you!
Over the age of 35 and just not feeling my Delia's suggestions? Then check out some of the great pieces at Neiman Marcus!! For $130 you can have this lovely skirt
Or for $71 (Last Call Designer Sale) you can have this cute but simple skirt, it'll go with ANYTHING!
DKNY has these cute shorts for sale for $49.
Last but not least, Nordstroms:
I found a cute floral skirt for $51.90 (it's on sale!!). Sadly that was the only one I liked in their sale section...
Ok, well I could go on and on but I'll spare you all. Happy shopping and enjoy the warm weather if you have it!
