Sorry, I was sick for a few days and feel like I fell off the planet as I'm backlogged on email and UFN stuff...
After two days of staying in bed I just HAD to escape. So, Regina, Melissa and I went to the Ballard Boutique Warehouse Sale. I can't say I was super impressed by some of the clothing. Clutch had some really nice handbags, Kimberly Baker had some adorable jewelry and several boutiques had some great jeans available (and reasonably priced!). (I refrained from spending money on items I didn't need just now.) There were several men's items but since I wasn't shopping for hubby I can't report on what they had. The men there seemed to be doing just fine with their purchases though. From what I heard, there was a mad rush in the morning so maybe next time we should go earlier!
The rest of my weekend was pretty low key and not shopping related. I did hit up the "All Tharp" ballet performance on Sunday at PNB. That was great! Sadly, I did miss I Heart Rummage though. Now I have to wait another month - sad!
On another note, a random yet fun one, some of you may remember me talking about Joss Whedon's Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog with Neil Patrick Harris... (If you liked Buffy or Firefly then you'll love this!) Well a co-worker of mine has created one of his own video application to get into the League of Evil. It's really funny!
Best of luck to you Jay! ;)

Goodbye La Rousse... Well, Kinda...
Well, today I got the "official" email... La Rousse is closing September 30th. THANKFULLY, you can still shop online! It's like going to the store, but in your PJ's (or nothing at all), however you choose to do it.When we first started Urban Fashion Network, Amanda was one of the first shop owners we met, and from the get-go she has been supportive of us and our site! She is just amazing! Thank you Amanda!
Yesterday I went to her VIP closing sale and perused the many racks of clothing. I picked up 2 LA Made items, a hot pink top and black dress. Regina, who went too, picked up 2 amazing dresses. One of which I wanted so bad but was a size to small for me. DAMN! Oh well, I told her I'd have to get down to a size smaller so I could borrow it. ;) Lucky girl.
So, you better hurry and get on down to La Rousse to pick up some amazing pieces at low low prices!! Here are the details straight from Amanda's email:
THE LIQUIDATION SALE EVENT HAS BEGUN!
* Take advantage of liquidation prices and save 50%-90% through out the store.
* Save 20% off new Fall 08 merchandise.
* After September, I will continue to maintain the online store and blog. We are getting some great new indie designers for Fall 08!
* Also, I will be taking private clients that are invited to come to my home showroom in Capital Hill to buy new and vintage items.
* When clients make an appointment, I will have a number of items pulled aside for them to make shopping more efficient.
* If you are interested in learning more about becoming a private client, please email me at amanda@la-rousse.com or call the shop 206.448.1515.
There ya have it, stop thinking about it and head on down there now!!

Seattle GREEN Fashion Week
It's finally here! The new Seattle Fashion Week that has been pretty heavily advertised on the radio, around town and in several local publications. We've been waiting and now it's here!!
Regina kicked off the week for us at their first event at Vessel with cocktails and mingling. Then on Wednesday she and I attended their green panel discussion (which you can read about here). Thursday we missed due to prior arrangements. Tonight is the spa and services suite at El Gaucho which we also will be missing as we were to late to schedule any services (I secretly am crying inside as I love spa services with a passion!). Saturday is the big runway event and we WILL be there! stay tuned for updates and images from those events!
Tonight, Dawn and I are headed to La Rousse for the Sameunderneath Trunk Show - should be fun!!
I have to gather all the items for DIFFA this week and attend a few shows... It's going to be a busy weekend! If you see me and I look like I am dragging, it's probably b/c I am... A non-fat vanilla latte will make me feel better - anyone?

The David Lawrence Fashion Show & Brunch
This setup was a little different than the other events we have attended. They had cocktails but no appetizers... The Cosmopolitan I had was one of the best Cosmos I have had in awhile - just the right amount of everything!
The 3 of us headed into the main room to get seats for the runway show. I had told myself that I wasn't going to take as many pictures this time, but, I did... I took picture of the WHOLE show - it's like an addiction.
It was such a high energy show - the music was loud, very upbeat, the models looked amazing, (there were some HOT guys!!) oh and I really enjoyed the clothes... Fashion shows have such an energy about them and this one definitely had a high level of pizazz! (Regina and Dawn will go more in depth of the show itself... check out their blogs!)
After the show, David Blackham came out and thanked everyone, had the models come back out and then invited us back to their shop for appetizers and wine...
We headed over, making a few small stops at places, and then attended the party. The party wasn't my favorite part of the evening. There were to many people in the store, it was very crowded, getting wine was really hard to do and there were no appetizers that we say... I did get a piece of chocolate, however, it's still resting in my purse. I don't like being crammed into places, especially when people are pushy. We found a more spacious space to stand in and then decided to just go stand outside the store.
While out there we realized that one of the male models, Jesse, was one of the models from the last few years of DIFFA parties. Dawn took the lead and introduced us (I was feeling shy). He informed us he'll be at the Party at the Mansion yet again... There is a reason to attend the party, if anything!!
Check out the fashion show pictures!!
Regina and I went and checked out the new merchandise, had a delicious Bloody Mary and some extremely yummy food! Thanks Amanda for inviting us and being so supportive of what we do!
I, of course, took pictures!!

UFN = Party Animals
Dawn and I went to an early, early, early morning (7am, people!) breakfast for some WSU Business School event at the Sheraton Friday morning... Then we proceeded to our actual day jobs, then left around 4pm and headed back to Seattle to start our UFN duties... First we headed to La Rousse to check out her happy hour specials. I ended up purchasing 2 lovely dress/tops (all while sipping a glass or wine) and Dawn purchased one (sans wine... pregnant, remember...).
We left spending little money but feeling like a million bucks!
Then we hopped back in the car and headed to the Atsui Grand Opening celebration which we had RSVP'd for... We checked out the cool Japanese designer clothes and snacked on ahi tuna apps from BOKA Kitchen - well, actually I did, no raw fish for those who are pregnant... I ate some for Dawn though, no worries! Oh and I had a glass of some yummy champagne, she had Dry Soda. Jay, one of the owners, was a lovely host and snapped a picture of us before we left. Thanks for the great time... Oh and thanks to the Alexis Hotel valet, they gave us free parking: His exact words, "We usually charge but since she's pregnant..." SUPER!! ;)
Back in the car and off to Fremont for the First Friday Fashion event. We hit pretty much all the stores, had a snack or two, looked through the sales racks and then decided to go eat dinner (mmm... Mexican!).
It was quite a night of boutique shopping - I wish every night was as exciting as Friday! Thank you to all the wonderful folks we met... I didn't see a shop I didn't like. Sadly a few were closed but we still peeked inside. Fremont has alot to offer shoppers. Enexile is leaving Seattle so they are having a liquidation - go stock up before it's to late!!
We'll have picts up soon enough! Happy shopping!
