"The Funkiest Film You'll See this Summer" - JIVE Magazine

Brooklyn, NY: Get up, get down and put it on. Look out for this summer"s hottest concert tee, "Zaire 74", featured prominently in what has already been called an “instant classic,” by Variety, SOUL POWER a documentary concert film. Available exclusively by Miss Wit Designs, the tee is featured prominently throughout the film, and worn by crew and musicians alike such as James Brown, Bill Withers and more. Says Miss Wit designer Deb Goldstein, "When people leave the theater after seeing Soul Power – the energy in the audience is high, I have felt it. There is a longing to take away a piece of the film. Like attending any great concert, a memento is always welcome. This shirt is just that thing."

In 1974, the most celebrated American R&B acts of the time James Brown, BB King, Bill Withers, Celia Cruz, Miriam Makeba, and more joined the most renowned musical groups in Southern Africa for a three day long concert held in Kinshasa, Zaire dubbed "Zaire '74". The dream of musician Hugh Masekela and producer Stewart Levine, this festival became a reality when combined with “The Rumble in the Jungle,” the epic fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman previously chronicled in the Academy-Award-winning documentary film "When We Were Kings."

Soul Power directed by Jeff Levy-Hinte is a verité documentary, entirely composed of footage shot at the legendary music festival and captures the unbridled glory of the performances. The concert has achieved mythological significance as the definitive Africa(n)-American musical event of the 20th Century.

On front the artwork originally created for Zaire '74, on back the new classic Soul Power. Designed to look and feel like your favorite old tee. Super soft, high quality hand printed, distressed-treated hems. And in the "new vintage" 100% Organic Cotton Tee manufactured from wind powered energy sources.
