This saddens me....

Kate and Andy Spade to Leave Company
Renata Espinosa
July 27th, 2007 @ 2:26 PM - New York

Kate and Andy Spade announced Thursday that they will step down from Kate Spade as head designer and chief executive officer, respectively.

The husband-and-wife team gave personal reasons for leaving the company.

"We have decided to step back from the day-to-day operations of the company and are excited to be part of the Kate Spade board, providing strategic and creative insight moving forward," said the Spades. "This new situation offers us the perfect opportunity to work closely with Bill on the transition, to explore some of our other areas of interest, travel and spend time with our two and a half year old daughter."

Liz Claiborne Inc acquired the company in November 2006 for $124 million with the Spades agreeing to a six-month transition plan that ended in mid-June. They agreed to stay on a few extra weeks until the end of the Spring market season, which ends next week, said Bill McComb, CEO of Liz Claiborne Inc.

The duo founded the company in 1993 along with partners Pamela Bell and Elyce Arons, with a successful, product range of "affordable luxury" that has expanded beyond their popular signature handbags to small leather goods, luggage, baby products and licensing agreements for shoes, eyewear, tabletop and stationery products. There are currently 19 Kate Spade retail stores throughout the country, four outlets and one Jack Spade specialty store.

SHOES!!

I love shoes, I really do! It appears Anthropologie is having a shoe sale. Now I do like Anthopologie but I rarely buy anything from there b/c I tend to think it's overpriced... cute, but overpriced. I tend to purchase items from there at sale time only. So, today I got an email about their shoe sale and it actually has some cute shoes for good prices. Make sure to check it out!

My Wish List:
blue warbler slingbacks

crayon box flats

quilted eyelet peep-toes - something about these are cute.

kirby flats

gazebo slip-ons

limonada flats

fish fin flats - SUPER cute but not going to spend $184.95 for flats...

I could go on but I will spare you. ;)

I just picked up a copy of Real Simple Magazine...

...and I love it! It definitelly is a fun magazine for a DIY-er. As some of you may know, I design jewelry. I don't know about you other jewelry designers out there but I have such issues with display. As I was flipping through Real Simple I came across an earring organizer which I think would be really cute to not only organize your earrings but to also display them... ahhhh, see where I'm going here!

Check it out, you too can build your own organizer for all those pesky earrings... And while your at why not buy some more! ;)

Earrings...

I get emails from Fragments.com and they always have such lovely bright images. This morning I got an email from them about earrings and I couldn't help but click on a pair from designer Mary Louise. I don't have much info on her but the earrings are super cute and seem reasonably priced...

Here is what they look like:
